Care Instructions

Thank you for visiting this page to learn how to care for your piece(es)!

For all mediums: If you notice repair immediatley upon buying, contact me so I can restore the piece to its highest quality. I care deeply about the integrity of my work!

Stained Glass

1. Stained glass contains lead. It's safe to handle stained glass pieces containing lead because you, the customer, ultimately don't need to handle it much. Wash hands after handling, and don't...lick it?

2. My stained glass pieces are almost always meant to be kept indoors. I'll note if something is safe for outdoor display.

3. If your piece has paint details, avoid touching or scratching at the paint.

4. I recommend hanging a stained glass piece from a window latch, a screw hook installed at the top of the window (i.e. parallel to the ceiling, but directly above the window), or from a curtain rod.
AVOID SUCTION CUPS. If one un-suctions, it could destroy your piece.

5. I finish off the stained glass piece with a caranuba polish/wax. Though I clean thoroughly, it's possible there is polish residue in a nook or cranny. To freshen up the shine, buff the area(s) with a microfiber cloth. Do not use glass cleaner (e.g. Windex).

6. Repairing a stained glass piece is possible, but time-consuming and therefore costly. If your piece experiences a fall or other damage and you want to inquite about repair, contact me. I charge cost of materials plus an hourly rate for the repair process. Note that I can't guarantee exact likeness of glass colors but will do my best to match them with my available glass.

Jewelry

1. I solder broken china pendants with a copper-tin alloy (i.e. lead-free). It's very safe to handle. Still, don't lick it.

2. Remove jewelry before sweat, shower, or sleep.

3. I finish broken china jewelry glass with a metal polish. Though I clean thoroughly, it's possible there is residue in a nook or cranny. To freshen up the shine, use a microfiber cloth to clean the piece.

4. Be gentle with the "dots". I use a lot of solder so they won't easily falter, but if bumped/dropped hard enough, it could shift the dot or peel it back.
